Over a year ago, the Gutter Cat Gang pounced at the chance to sponsor and support Gutter Flight Basketball Club, its Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) youth basketball team.
Today, this team is flying high, and rockin' limited edition GutterMelos donated by GCG community members.
Recently, Gutter Flight Basketball Club (@GutterFlight) tweeted a 4-part thread, sharing a dynamic video and more to bring attention to the impact they're having: "Ready for a new youth basketball experience? Explore our thread for an exclusive journey through our passion for the game. Discover inspiring stories, player highlights, and what makes us GUTTER! Check out our video, then Dive in!"
The Gutter Cat Times reached out to Trapatouille (@TrapatouilleGCG), a coach and co-founder of Gutter Flight, to get the low down on the team!
He said, "Our first season was an overwhelming success! We played a total of 6 tournaments from April to August and came out with 3 championships! On the court we found a lot of success but more so, growth, which is one of the key goals for our coaching."
"One of our other goals as an organization is to introduce and expose the world of web3 to our players and parents. Bridging the web3 space with youth sports is an avenue that we want to lead, so creating an environment where athletics and tech go hand and hand is something we are striving for."
Trapatouille told the GCT, "What separates us from other basketball organizations is having the Gutter community in our corner. It's powerful and unmatched."
"The players loved the GutterMelos and were in awe of all the details in the shoes. We gave each player a print of both Joubrel's (@iamMRJOUBREL) and TJ's (@tjsnewwaveart) custom pieces they did for Gutter Flight."
Trapatouille shouted out NoFreakingTime (@NoFreakingTime) and the entire Gutter community for all of the support, and are brainstorming ways to get the community involved: "We hope you're ready to fly with us!"
