Gang Gang from the Gutter!
The flames are on high in the Gutter Cat Gang, as the GCG's out of this world collab with global sportswear brand PUMA x Charlotte Hornets All-Star LaMelo Ball is cooking up attention!
The collab, first announced by the Gang on May 15th, led to a June 6th reveal of thermal-mode GutterMelo kicks -- and they're generating serious buzz in the sneakerhead and business worlds!
Today, Gutter Dan tweeted, "Hot off the press," referencing a clture.org article about the MB.03 sneakers.
clture.org, an online music, sports, arts, and entertainment publication, highlighted LaMelo's launch of his sneaker with Puma and its "special 'GutterMelo' colorway in collaboration with Web3 social club Gutter Cat Gang." Readers are directed to the Gang's GutterMelo.com site for additional information on the drop.
Building on the Gutter's increasing exposure and signaling a bridge between web2 and 3, Gutter Dan also shared a link to a yahoo!finance article, "Puma Plots NFT Sneaker Drop With NBA's LaMelo Ball, Gutter Cat Gang."
The article points to the increasing significance of redeeming digital NFTs for physical merchandise, which the Gutter Cat Gang popularized with an earlier STAPLEGUTTER collab with streetwear designer, Jeff Staples.
Today's articles are just the tip of the iceberg, though, as many in the mainstream media are talking about the Gang Gang!
Gutter Cat Gang community member 412NFT.eth (@412nft) tweeted, "Just a few eyes on the @GutterCatGang x Puma x LaMelo drop."
412NFT's tweet shows the extensive reach that the Gutter collab has, from Roc Nation Sports (@RocNationSports), the sports division of JAY-Z's management and entertainment company, to Sneaker News; Decrypt; Tik Tok, and Instagram.
As the GutterMelo kicks continue to stoke the attention fire, the Gutter Cat Times came across another spark that could light Gutter City a blaze with interest: the GCG confirmed more Gutter athletes going forward.
Yesterday, bullishNFT (@bullishNFT) tweeted a poll that asked, "What's the chance that @GutterCat Gang will collab with more sport stars after this activation?"
While the majority of respondents (73%) indicated "hell yea," the more interesting responses came in replies from the official Gutter Cat Gang account and Gutter Ric, both of whom said, "100%."
The Gutter Cat Times is working to uncover more information on who these other Gutter Athletes are and will keep you posted on all the gang gang news as it develops.
