It might be summertime, but this Rat is headed to the classroom in the Fall!
In late April, Gutter Cat Gang author G.W. (@GWtheLabRat), released his novel, "The Last Lab Rat," introducing the world to Gutter City and its various species. And now this book is going to skool, courtesy of GCG member, Ξrwinium (@Erwinium1)!
"#GutterBookClub is happening for some of my students in the fall! Looking forward to reading with my students! Gang gang! @GWtheLabRat @GutterCatGang," he tweeted recently, showing off a box of Gutter books.
The Gutter Cat Times reached out to Ξrwinium to find out more about his plans for "The Last Lab Rat," and his time in the Gutter.
He joined the Gang back in June, 2021 right after cats were minted: "I instantly vibed with the art. It just fit my aesthetic, so I quickly scooped up Cat 2560, and I named him Osckie," he explained.
Ξrwinium works with high school students, and decided to launch a book club to help them with literacy skills: "I thought 'The Last Lab Rat' would be the perfect book to start, and I would be supporting a fellow Gutter homie at the same time! I think they’ll enjoy the book—especially the adult language!"
He told the GCT that he's reading the book now, and enjoying it so far: "I think it’s well written and interesting!"
In between supporting the homies, being a dad to 2 kids, and working in the public school system, he's also thinking about creating Gutter derivative art, something he's dabbled in previously.
Let's see what the kiddos think when he brings "The Last Lab Rat," and Gutter City to skool this fall!
The Gutter Cat Times will continue to follow this story and bring you the latest from the streets of the Gutter. Follow along @guttercattimes on X for all things Gutter, all the time.
