Gutter Kicks Spread Gang Culture In Museum Exhibit

Gang Gang, Gutter sports fans! The Super Bowl isn't the only event to look forward to.

The Gutter Cat Gang community can also celebrate the spread of GCG in the popular culture!

Yesterday, @LaissezEth, a member of the Gang since the summer of 2021, tweeted: "My @GutterCatGang kicks worn by @AhmadMonk will be shown in the Hoop Dreams: Basketball in Contemporary Art exhibition in @Syracuse1848 at @EversonMuseum let's keep pushing this space forward!"

These GCG x Malik Monk Gutter Kicks were hand-designed by artist Andr3wtl Customs, and feature a winter scene with white snowflakes on an icy blue background. The side of the shoes feature a Gutter Cat.

Monk wore the shoes on December 25th, 2021, in a game between the Brooklyn Nets and the Los Angeles Lakers. NFT Evening reported that the "Gutter Kicks NFT reveals Monk's passion for the Gutter Cat Gang. In fact, the basketball player holds a full set..."

Following the game, Monk and the Gutter Cat Gang auctioned off the Gutter Kicks NFT for charity, with proceeds going to Arkansas families impacted by devastating tornadoes. Laissez.eth purchased the shoes for 6 WETH in an OpenSea sale. As a result, he received a physical pair of shoes and a game-worn jersey, both autographed: "I saw a rare opportunity to own the first edition gutter kicks and took it. None of the others have been available to the public..."

How did the Gutter Kicks end up in the museum exhibit? Laissez.eth said that one of his best friends is involved with the Hoop Dreams project at the Everson Museum: "I told him I had a wild pair of kicks that were 1/1 and game worn. He was immediately interested."

Laissez.eth is also a sneakerhead and involved in his own web3 business, @NightkidsNFT, which features collaborations with artists to design sneakers.

Following Laissez.eth's Tweet yesterday, GCG member MagnumAPI responded, "A Mamba or MJ OG from the @GutterCat Gang collection would be the perfect fit for this exhibition @EversonMuseum."

Gutter Mitch replied, "Would love to make this happen! Gang Gang!" And

Laissez.eth said, "We're working on it!"

Laissez told the Gutter Cat Times that he would share updates as soon as any Gutter Cat Gang additions to the museum exhibit were confirmed.

If you're in the Syracuse area, be sure to check out the Everson Museum of Art's exhibit and the Gutter Kicks! Gang Gang!
